STATE OF INDIANA MATRIX MODEL TRAINING CALENDAR 2023

Funding for this training is provided by Indiana State Opioid Response grant

The Matrix Model Adult Core Training will provide attendees information needed to understand the basic components of the Matrix Program and recommendations for implementation. We will discuss how to adapt the model to specific programs needs and requirements.  Mock groups, videos and more depth instruction will also help attendees prepare for use of the Matrix Model of Treatment. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask specific questions of typical program challenges and clarify any of the program components.  The training is very interactive with experiential exercises to help develop skills of the program to promote attendee discussions.  Training dates offer both virtual and in-person.

The Matrix Model for Criminal Justice Settings Training provides an evidence-based treatment experience to adults in correctional settings, including jails, community corrections, referrals from probation and parole in outpatient settings, drug courts, and prisons. Based on the award-winning Matrix Model, this program has been specifically adapted to meet the unique needs of justice-involved individuals.  It addresses not only the substance use but the behaviors that caused them to become involved in the justice system.  Reintegration back into the community and the family are also part of the programming.  Contingency Management with justice involved populations has shown to be highly effective and information will be provided on Contingency Management as well. The Adjustment Component has also been added to the Criminal Justice manual to address common issues such as housing, employment and family dynamics and how those impact recovery.  This program is fully integrated to improve treatment outcomes and reduce recidivism rates.

The Matrix Model for Adolescents and Young Adults Training is a proven Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for people ages 13 to 25. It uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to teach patients to analyze events and change thoughts, behaviors, and lifestyle related to alcohol and other drug use.  The evidence-based program includes four core clinical areas: individual family therapy, early recovery, relapse prevention, and family education. Participation in a Twelve Step program is encouraged throughout the curriculum. It also emphasizes the importance of social support, urine analysis, and breath testing.

The Key Supervisor Training will provide attendees additional detailed information on program implementation, specifics and feedback for each agency and provide Key Supervisor fidelity tools to determine how close their program is to operating to fidelity and how to operate the model to fidelity.  This is Not limited to supervisors.  Anyone can attend to get more detail and the fidelity tools for implementation.

The Advanced Matrix Training is developed for individuals who have attended previous Matrix trainings and have been using the model and want more information and time to ask questions, learn more about latest trends in treatment and how those can be used with Matrix.

Training handouts and the link to access the virtual  trainings will be sent to attendees the week prior to the training.   In-Person training materials will also be emailed the week prior to the training.
